Wedding of the week: Couple pay homage to Vietnamese heritage with a pre-wedding tea ceremony

Catherine Vinh and Jason Ingles, both 35 Japan’s onsen town of Takeo was the unlikely place where Catherine and Jason’s life paths crossed. They were both residing in the city for the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program and started off as friends but eventually made it official and survived long distance during the pandemic. The lovebirds got engaged during a hike at Baldwins Bluff in May 2023. On the wedding day, they paid homage to Catherine’s Vietnamese roots with a tea ceremony at their family home, while donning traditional dress called ao dai. Family and friends travelled from near and far to attend the special occasion and the couple were overwhelmed by the love and support of loved ones. Jason donned a bespoke suit tailor-made in Ho Chi Minh City. Bride and groom also wore traditional Vietnamese dress from Ao Dai Pham Hoang in Vietnam.
