A woman is fighting for life and a man is under police guard in hospital after a late-night altercation in Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula. Emergency services were called to Bridge Road, at Barwon Heads near Geelong, about 11pm on Saturday to reports a woman had been injured. A 55-year-old man was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, where he remains under police guard. Police believe the woman was injured during an altercation and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
