Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is expected to seal a permanent move away from Naples at the end of the season. The 26-year-old will enter the final year of his contract in Italy this summer and Antonio Conte's side are running the risk of losing him for nothing in 2026. United have struggled for goals this term with neither Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee becoming natural goalscorers under Ruben Amorim. Ipswich Town's Liam Delap is thought to be on their radar with his £30million release clause a tempting fee for the club. However, it has now been reported that Amorim favours a move for Osimhen and reports in Italy have claimed United have reached a 'basic agreement with the striker's entourage over his salary'. The task is now to agree a suitable deal with Napoli for the Nigeria international. United aren't expected to be able to spend £63million, his release clause to non-Italian sides, but the contract stalemate means that figure could drop. Tuttosport have claimed that Hojlund's move to Napoli could see Juventus, who are also keen on Osimhen, move in for Ademola Lookman. "Osimhen will announce his decision in April," he told Sport Mediaset. "At the moment, five of the world’s top clubs are interested in him. His arrival here was a dream—he came, and for now, he is playing with us. In January, there was talk of a transfer, but he stayed. He loves Galatasaray very much. Right now, he is the dream of all our rivals. "Although we are focused on winning the title, we have not had direct discussions with Victor yet. There is no point in talking about it now. Galatasaray are a top-level club—if it weren’t, Victor wouldn’t have come. His stay at Galatasaray is not as impossible as it may seem." The positive news regarding Osimhen comes just over 24 hours after it emerged of hopes that Matheus Cunha will join the club in the summer were bolstered. Reports on Monday claimed that United are leading the race to sign the Wolves star to add further firepower to Amorim's forward options. Get United transfer news and updates on WhatsApp!
