Influencer runs towards ‘massive’ shark at popular 80 mile beach near Port Hedland

A young Aussie influencer has captured the nerve-racking moment a shark swam into shallow waters at a WA beach, but to the surprise of her followers, she ran towards it, not away from it. Bonita Alcock was sitting on the sand at Eighty Mile Beach — a 220-kilometre stretch of coastline between Broome and Port Hedland — when her partner Dylan spotted the shark and yelled out, telling her to come to the water. “There’s a massive shark!” she shouts in the clip. “My partner and I are travelling Australia and currently doing a work stint at the Eighty Mile Beach Caravan park,” Alcock told Daily Mail Australia. “I ran over to it and it quickly disappeared as the water is quite murky at Eighty Mile Beach at the moment. “Then it resurfaced further down the beach and I sprinted down the beach to see it which is when I recorded the video and it hung in the shallows for a really long time.” Camera Icon Bonita and Dylan desribe themselves as “lapping round Aus”. Her video has been viewed more than 30,000 on TikTok. Followers flooded the reel with comments, many surprised by Alcock’s bravery after she rushed towards the shoreline. “You’re so brave! I’d be running the other direction,” one person commented. “Girrrrll I would have pooped right there 🤣🤣,” another said.
