'I won a £3 million mansion - but here's why I put it up for sale just weeks later' Uttam Parmar, 58, from Leicestershire, won a breathtaking house in Cornwall after buying a £25 Omaze prize draw ticket Uttam Parmar decided to sell his £3million home (Image: Omaze / SWNS ) A lucky dad who won a £3 million mansion put the extraordinary property on the market just eight weeks after winning it. Uttam Parmar, 58, won the dream home in Cornwall after trying his luck in the Omaze million pound house draw. After buying a £25 prize draw ticket, Uttam from Leicestershire landed the stunning Camel Estuary abode on August 12 and celebrated the win with his wife Raki and son Aaron. But on October 8, he then listed it for sale at £4 million. The dream home came mortgage-free along with an additional £50,000 and all stamp duty and legal expenses covered. After spending time in Cornwall, the family decided against keeping the plush Cornish home, preferring the peace of their own red-brick detached property, reports the Express. Reflecting on their win, Uttam said: "We were absolutely thrilled to win the house, Cornwall is such a magical place and we have enjoyed spending time as a family in this extraordinary property, we've especially loved waking up to such spectacular views. Everyone in Cornwall has been so welcoming, it has really felt like home. "I know the next owners will enjoy this house just as much as we have." The property which was built with "no expense spared" offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and is located near the charming village of Rock on the coast – where celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay resides with his family in his £4.4million mansion. The eco-friendly mansion features insulation made from recycled newspaper and a 'green roof' covered in grasses, moss and flowers which reuses water, supports wildlife and enhances air quality Uttam entered the Omaze Million Pound House Draw in July. After eight unsuccessful attempts, he and his wife finally clinched the grand prize. He was at hospital when he discovered he had won the four-bedroom dream home after buying a £25 ticket. The property boasts a sun-drenched terrace, a hot tub, and a private courtyard featuring exposed brick walls and an open fireplace. Inside, the house offers a spacious, open-plan kitchen and dining area perfect for hosting guests. The expansive 4,200 square-foot property also comes with five acres of land nestled in the Cornish countryside. Local estate agents estimated that the stunning property could fetch as much as £15,000 a month in rent during the high season. At the time of winning, Uttam said: "I've always considered myself a lucky person, firstly because of my wonderful family – but I've also won a few items such as a TV and coffee table, which I was pretty content with." An Omaze representative explained that winners have total flexibility regarding what they decide to do with their new prize home. A spokesperson said: "All Omaze winners are free to decide if they live in their new house, rent it out for a supplementary income or sell it whenever they wish, to become a cash multi-millionaire – they can put it on the market the day they get the keys - the choice is entirely theirs. "Omaze Grand Prize winners also receive £250,000 in cash to maintain their new property and help them settle in. "Estimated running costs for each house are available for entrants to view on the Omaze website. If they decide to keep the house, they could afford to comfortably stay for many years using just the £250,000 settling in money. The properties also come with all the furniture featured in the adverts. Omaze styles each property with well over a hundred thousand pounds worth of furnishings and essentials, so they are all ready for a winner to enjoy as soon as they get the keys. Alternatively, if they do already own a property, they could choose to keep it and rent it out as a supplementary income. "Should winners wish to rent out their new property, they can achieve long-term rental values of thousands of pounds a month. Whatever their circumstances, all Omaze winners have several fantastic life changing options available to them. "Omaze is immensely proud to have created 36 millionaires whilst also raising more than £85 million for good causes in the UK since it launched here."
