The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft takes centre stage tonight. The highly-anticipated annual three-day event is this year taking place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, home of the Packers, with the Tennessee Titans owning the No1 overall pick after finishing with the worst record in the NFL during the 2024 regular season. They are widely expected to use that top selection on Miami star Cam Ward, who is the leading quarterback in an NFL Draft class that is rather light on elite prospects at the game’s most important position, particularly when compared to last year when all of the top three picks were signal-callers, as well as six of the top 12 overall. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ landing spot is among the biggest storylines in this draft, as is the future of former Buffaloes team-mate and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, an accomplished two-way college player at both wide receiver and cornerback who could help redefine the way the game is played if others follow his lead. Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter has many who believe him to be the best overall talent available in the draft, with LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham also expected to be selected high on Thursday night.
