Every Wednesday, I delve into the world of Wordle, providing my readers with hints, clues, and the daily answer to this popular word game. As we welcome today, also fondly referred to as Thors Day, its a great time to reflect on yesterdays challenge, which was no less than a delightful puzzle for fans of the game.

Yesterday was Wordle Wednesday, a special day when I offer an extra puzzle alongside the usual daily challenge. This week was no different, and Im excited to share the answer with you all. The riddle presented was intriguing: Im an odd number. Remove one letter from me and I become even. What number am I? After some consideration, the answer revealed itself: SEVEN. When you remove the letter S, you are left with the word EVEN. Its a clever play on words that showcases the fun and challenge that Wordle brings to its players.

Now, shifting gears to todays Wordle challenge! As a dedicated player, I make it a point to utilize Wordle Bot daily to analyze my guessing strategies. If youre interested in improving your game, I highly recommend checking your Wordles with Wordle Bot, which helps you assess your performance and refine your guessing techniques.

For todays game, I started with the word SLOPE. While it was a decent opener, I only managed to secure one green box from my guessa bit underwhelming, to say the least. In pursuit of a better strategy, I chose to use all new letters in my next guess, CHAIN. This approach reduced my options to just three possibilities, but it still left me in a bit of a quandary.

With only a few letters remaining, I decided to take a gamble and went with GENIE, a choice that turned out to be fortuitous. Thankfully, my wish for a successful guess was granted! Both the Wordle Bot and I scored a point today, as we both managed to solve the puzzle in three tries. Here are our updated scores for April: Erik: 11 points, Wordle Bot: 15 points.

The word genie has interesting etymological roots. It originates from the French word gnie, which itself was borrowed from the Latin term genius, referring to a guardian spirit or guiding influence. The modern interpretation of genie was also influenced by the Arabic term jinn (or djinn), which refers to a supernatural creature in Middle Eastern folklore. This shift in meaning occurred during the 18th century, particularly through translations of the famous tales known as The Thousand and One Nights, where the Arabic jinn were rendered as genies in English.
