Dozens of Tudor Grange Leisure Centre members were said to have been left "furious" after traffic wardens were seen placing yellow notices on a number of cars from around 10am on Wednesday April 23. ‌ The cars belonged to people who were stuck in a queue, waiting to collect a ticket that gives them three hours of free parking. However, despite seeing long queues, parking wardens entered the car park to slap yellow tickets on 29 cars, owned by people who were held up in the line, waiting for their free ticket. One Solihull gym member told BirminghamLive that members were left "furious" at the bizarre move and that even staff members from Tudor Grange came out to try and explain the situation to wardens. ‌ A screenshot from Google street view showing that members of Tudor Grange Leisure Centre get three hours of free parking (Image: Google street view ) A spokesperson for Solihull Council explained the notices left on cars were warnings, that did not involve a fine. However the authority has apologised for the mishap and any inconvenience it caused. ‌ A Solihull Council spokesperson said: “The operation and maintenance of Tudor Grange Leisure Centre car park is the responsibility of Everyone Active and the Council provides enforcement of this. "A new ticketing system has recently been installed by Everyone Active and unfortunately on Wednesday morning, two of the machines were not printing tickets so it meant people had to queue for longer than normal. "Our parking services team helped support Everyone Active to get the machines back up and running by the afternoon, but during this time 29 warning notices (not involving a fine) had been issued to people. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
