Kohli scored his half century off 45 balls on Sunday evening and then fell for 51 runs. This is Kohli’s 6th half century of the season, four of which have now come in run chases. Earlier in the day, Suryakumar Yadav had smashed a 28-ball 54 against the Lucknow Super Giants to claim the Orange Cap as Mumbai Indians scored 215/7 in the first innings of their Indian Premier League clash at the Wankhede Stadium. Yadav’s knock threw down the gauntlet for Lucknow Super Giants’ Nicholas Pooran, who was fourth in the standings with 377 runs from nine innings before the game started. After scoring 27 runs off 15 balls before perishing, Pooran climbed to third spot leaving behind Virat Kohli.
