More info A man from Plymouth has hit the jackpot in an incredible turn of events, winning a prize package worth £91,000 in an online competition. Andy Bryant, 53, secured a £41,000 Mini Countryman JCW and a £50,000 cash prize in BOTB's weekly Dream Car Competition. At the time of the win, Andy was working offshore as a North Sea gas rig worker, and received the life-changing news via video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams. After receiving the news, Andy said: "Wow! Thank you very much!. "I'm shocked, surprised. It's just incredible. You think something like this doesn't really happen to anyone but clearly it does!". The Mini Countryman JCW boasts a 296bhp i4 turbo engine, a top speed of 145mph, and a luxurious interior. Christian gave Andy a virtual tour of the high-spec car, highlighting its impressive features, before revealing the surprise £50,000 cash prize hidden in the boot. (Image: BOTB) Despite initially being drawn to the car, Andy is now contemplating taking the cash alternative. "A year ago, I would have been all over it and would love to have had that sat on my drive," he said. However, with an upcoming house move and a recently converted new van, Andy feels the prize money could significantly impact his future plans. Instead of driving off into the sunset in his new car, Andy is considering using the cash to ease the financial strain of his impending house move. " I don't know where yet, but a big family holiday is definitely on the cards. And with moving house, the cash will certainly help put a dent in the mortgage." Christian said: "Andy was in total shock you could see how much the win meant to him. It's always extra special surprising someone who's working hard away from home, and I'm so glad we could make his day. "This car is absolutely awesome a perfect blend of practicality and performance. And with £50,000 in the boot, I think it's safe to say Andy's week has just gone from good to unforgettable!". Leading car competitions company BOTB hands over the keys to a dream car each week, as well as offering lifestyle prizes. It also provides people the opportunity to win a holiday, cash, tech, cars and more in its Instant Wins Competition. Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, BOTB has given away cars worth £92.6m so far. To see Andy's reaction alongside a host of other lucky winners, head over to BOTB.com.
