Happened around 12:50 a.m. Tuesday in the Speedvale Avenue/Stevenson Street area A Brantford woman was arrested for impaired driving after a witness observed a silver Ford sedan strike a median then hit a sign that knocked the vehicle's side mirror off. At approximately 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, police arrived in the area of Speedvale Avenue and Stevenson Street and located the above mentioned sedan, with the side mirror missing, parked in a gas station. Two females were observed in the vehicle and a third was seen approaching the driver’s side door. Upon speaking to the female, police observed her to have a smell of alcohol on her breath and gave the female a roadside screening which she failed. The female was arrested and transported to the Guelph police station where tests confirmed the female to have an alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams in 100 ml of blood. The 18-year-old Brantford female was charged with impaired.
