2-alarm fire shuts down stretch of Davenport Road: police

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Graeme Roy Toronto police and fire crews are investigating a two-alarm fire at an apartment building that shut down a stretch of Davenport early Sunday morning. In a post shared to social media, officials say crews were called to the scene shortly before 6 a.m. Officials are warning drivers to “consider alternate routes of travel” as Davenport Road between Avenue and Bedford remains closed. The TTC is advising riders that the 19 Bay bus route will also be diverted. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
