More info Chris Eubank Jr emerged victorious over Conor Benn on points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to settle their bitter rivalry. The crowd greeted Benn with boos as he made his way to the ring, even as his father tried to rally support to no avail. Eubank Jr's entrance was also met with jeers, despite being accompanied by his own dad who had shockingly called him "disgusting" just days before, walking out to the iconic tune of Simply The Best. Before the fight began, the legendary dads shared a hug, reminiscent of their own controversial draw 32 years prior at Old Trafford. At the referee Victor Loughlin's urging, the sons touched gloves as the match commenced. Benn, eager to make an impression, started energetically but lacked precision in his strikes. Eubank Jr, on the other hand, landed more accurate hits in the first round. Benn found his groove in the second with a series of right hands, prompting Eubank Jr to counter with a left hook and adopt a more strategic stance. However, Eubank Jr resorted to clinching in the third when Benn's rights began to connect more frequently, reports the Mirror. Benn's best opportunity was thought to be in the initial rounds before Eubank Jr could utilise his size advantage, and indeed, Eubank Jr started to dominate from the fourth round. His left hook was causing Benn issues, and an uppercut landed squarely, but Benn retaliated with his trusty right. By the fifth round, Benn's explosive energy began to wane as Eubank Jr took the lead. At the halfway point, it seemed that Eubank Jr was more likely to seize control of the grudge match. The seventh round saw Eubank Jr vexing Benn with a one-two punch. Both fighters demonstrated their resilience in the eighth round as neither could break through the other's defence. However, Benn found renewed vigour, putting Eubank Jr under pressure in the final moments. Benn was quicker to rise for the ninth round, landing solid hits on Eubank Jr with both hands. Eubank Jr retaliated with a body attack, but he couldn't assert his dominance over Benn as he might have hoped at this stage. Eubank Jr sustained a cut above his right eye due to an accidental head clash, and he faced further pressure in the 10th round as both fighters refused to back down. Eubank Jr ended the round on top, seemingly on track to secure the win. In the penultimate round, Eubank Jr had Benn pinned against the ropes but failed to capitalise on his advantageous position.
