The popular ITV talent competition was back at the Eventim Apollo in London for its first live semi-final, showcasing a variety of acts all vying for a place in the grand finale. Kicking off with the dinosaur-themed band Heavysaurus, the evening took an unforeseen turn when the presenters announced that the second act, young magician Teddy Magic, "wasn't ready" to take the stage. The duo then turned to the judges for their thoughts on the opening performance, reports the Express. Ant broke the news, saying: "Now, Teddy isn't quite ready backstage yet. He hasn't got his magic up and ready yet, so we'll chat to you judges," while Dec indicated there would be a "little change of plan". "Just while he gets himself ready and composed backstage," added Ant. A surprised Simon Cowell responded: "Hang on, so the act's not ready? It's okay, it's live," prompting Ant to jest: "And he's only eight years old, so back off, man!". (Image: (Image: ITV)) Following their discussion with the panel, Dec announced they'd proceed with the third act, Vinnie McKee, saying: "We're gonna have a little change of plan now. We're going to go to something else and come back to Teddy later on." BGT expressed surprise and concern on X (previously known as Twitter), with one viewer commenting: "Poor Teddy Magic. I hope he's okay." "It just occurred to me I think Teddy was supposed to be the first act as he was first in the previews, but then the dinosaurs went first. So he's missed two slots," another viewer pointed out. Later, the live show hit another snag when dance group The Blackouts were held up due to a technical glitch. "Now, you are not going to believe this. We're not quite ready," Dec announced, causing the judges to leap from their seats in surprise. "We've got a bit of a technical problem with the Blackouts, and while we sort that out, we're going to have a chat with our judges again." Thankfully, the hiccup was swiftly resolved, and The Blackouts took to the stage soon after. Their performance wowed both the judges and audience, leading Amanda to hit the golden buzzer, securing the troupe's place in the final.
