My Nobody's Child summer dress hides bloat without anyone realising on all-inclusive holidays The swishy A-line skirt is great for those days when you feel a little bloated, as it starts at the waist and skims over your tummy and hips, making it comfortable to wear to dinner Fashion writer Eve styled Flossie in a multitude of different ways to share how versatile the dress really is (Image: Eve Rowlands ) As a fashion writer - and keen dopamine dresser - a spring/summer dress must meet certain requirements to ensure it gets wear through the months of May to September, and beyond if it feels necessary. It must be versatile enough to wear to both fancier/swanky events as well as your best mate’s BBQ, and to lounge around the house. It must be layer-able but also be breathable to allow for wear in sunnier clime, and most importantly comfortable - my go-to silhouette is a big, baggy smock dress that allows for the dreaded bloat; a ‘tent dress’, if you will. It also must suit an abundance of shoes, from chunky Dr Martens sandals to lace up and cowboy boots. A bonus point if it has pockets. While it may sound like a lot to ask, one dress I’d been eyeing up for months since its release fits the bill: Nobody’s Child’s Flossi e. As soon as I spotted Flossie on the Nobody’s Child website , I immediately began compiling a list of accessories, shoes, outfits and events to which I could wear it. Costing £85, I will admit the dress is a bit of an investment piece but the amount of wear I know I’ll get out of it will more than make up for the spend. Let me explain why. Its cinched-in waist gives me more of an hourglass shape - as opposed to my relatively straight up-and-down look - while its round neckline with slight frill is lovely and romantic. The swishy A-line skirt is great for those days when you feel a little bloated, as it starts at the waist and skims over your tummy and hips, making it comfortable to wear to dinner, and at all inclusive hotels. Plus, it comes with neat pockets slotted into the skirt. The sleeveless design kept me you cool in the scorching weather recently and is suitable for wearing a bra underneath thanks to the thicker straps and placement of the neckline. The textured pattern is an element of Flossie I really like too - it has an air of the trending polka dots but instead of dots, it has a black and white embroidered design that adds some dimension. And being monochromatic, the dress lends itself easily to being paired with accessories of varying colours. The dress can easily be dressed up or down and is simple enough to work with other patterns (Image: Eve Rowlands ) The 100% organic cotton material makes this dress breathable enough for any heatwaves ahead and is soft on the skin - which is imperative during more tropical temps. Plus, its makeup is durable, meaning it’ll last for years to come. My only gripe is that the skirt’s lining sometimes feels a little bulky. But it’s not entirely noticeable and doesn’t ruin the look. With the waist band, it could also come up a little snug, so if you want it slightly roomy, I’d advise sizing up. Now, although it is more of a casual style dress, it can be dressed up with heels, a bag and a face of make-up, but I'll probably stick to wearing Flossie during the day with more comfortable additions.
