After trailing Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives by 25 points in the polls over the Christmas holidays, the Liberal Party has surged to a spring election victory that appeared unthinkable just a few months ago. The country’s major broadcasters declared a victory for Mark Carney’s Grits shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday night. Whether or not the party will win enough seats to form a majority government remains to be seen.
