More info Locals have shared their outrage after an OnlyFans adult star has sponsored a grassroots football club across the border. Ben Williams, of Calstock FC, made the deal with Bonnie Blue and said that some of the players' wives "weren't too happy" - but he has clarified "it's just a kind gesture from a lady who is very famous". He was approached by a fellow team member with the idea that controversial OnlyFans star wanted to sponsor the team's kit, reports CornwallLive. Ben initially dismissed it as a joke, but his teammate, a cousin of Bonnie Blue, confirmed it was serious. A sponsorship deal followed, which included a change of colour from the club's traditional black and yellow striped jersey to blue. The team, which describes itself on its Facebook page as 'a drinking team with a football problem', unveiled the new kit earlier this month. The words Bonnie Blue and her logo now adorn the front of the team's jersey with the words Up The Bonnie Blue Bees written on the back of the shirt. Bonnie Blue - real name Tia Emma Billinger - is one of OnlyFans' biggest and most controversial adult stars. The 25 year old from Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, has stirred up controversy with her claims to have had sex with 1,057 men in one day. She made several appearances on podcasts in 2024 which generated several weeks of backlash on Twitter. A subsequent appearance on This Morning prompted 188 complaints to Ofcom. (Image: Calstock FC / Facebook) An advert featuring her and involving the online casino Stake later prompted that firm to exit the UK market. Ben from Calstock FC in South East Cornwall, which competes in the Kernow Stone St Pirans League division 2 East a whole 15 leagues below the Premier League, recently discussed the club's new kit sponsorship deal involving a high-profile yet controversial figure. He stated that the deal with the globally recognised but contentious name is ultimately just a means to provide new kits for the players and secure some publicity for the club. Some older players reportedly faced a bit of strife at home, with their partners expressing dissatisfaction with the pornography industry icon backing their team. Nonetheless, Ben attempted to diminish any concerns regarding Bonnie Blue's involvement. He explained: "We have had a lot of split opinion online about it and some of the older players' wives weren't too happy. But it's not like she's coming down to make us anymore of a number in her numbers' game. It's just a kind gesture from a lady who is very famous. It's just a sponsorship for a shirt and nothing else." (Image: Calstock FC / Facebook) Following the announcement, online comments flew in, ranging from supportive to risque. Many individuals raised questions over the suitability of such a sponsor, especially given that Bonnie Blue's line of work may not set the best example for young fans. In response to our original article on Facebook, Lindsey Diane Haydock contributed her thoughts. She remarked: "I'm not sure that's the kind of publicity you want, especially if you have an under 18s team." Jenny Bennett expressed her disapproval, stating: "I'd be embarrassed to have her." Jeff Okeeffe echoed the sentiment, saying: "The club certainly doesn't have a moral compass." Tracey Sonia also chimed in, adding: "I don't think that is something to be advertised." Despite the negative feedback, the club has dismissed the criticism, stating that if Bonnie Blue wishes to financially support the club, she's welcome to do so. In a social media post, the club announced: ""We're thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership that's set to shake up the football world! Our team has officially teamed up with none other than the notorious @bonnie_blue_xox - arguably the most talked-about and controversial figure in world news - to become our new football kit sponsor. "This collaboration goes beyond mere branding. It symbolises our commitment to embrace boldness, innovation, and a spirit of fearless individuality on and off the pitch. A massive thankyou to Bonnie Blue for the sponsor." CornwallLive have reached out to Bonnie Blue for a comment.
