What Prince William did as crazy Aston Villa comeback sparks PSG pandemonium

Brave Aston Villa staged a stunning Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain as Prince William got involved in the pandemonium at Villa Park. But a 3-2 victory for Unai Emery’s side in the second leg of their quarter-final tie against French champions PSG was not enough, as they exited the competition 5-4 on aggregate. Villa went into the second leg trailing PSG 3-1 from the first leg in Paris last week. Morgan Rogers gave Villa a dream start to the tie with the opening goal at the Parc des Princes, but the French champions hit back with goals from Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes to arrive at Villa Park with a two-goal advantage. It got even worse for Villa as they fell 2-0 behind to PSG in the first half of the second leg, Achraf Hakimi and Mendes on target for Luis Enrique’s side inside the opening half an hour at Villa Park. But Youri Tielemans pulled a goal back on 34 minutes and John McGinn (55 minutes) and Ezri Konsa (57 minutes) both scored early in the second half, sparking memorable scenes inside Villa Park. Villa needed one more goal to force the tie into extra time and they had chances through sub Marco Asensio and Konsa before the end - but it wasn’t to be as Villa won the match, but lost the tie.
